I've found a new addiction and I'm already stockpiling a HUGE wishlist that I doubt I'll ever finish or fulfill..

I've found.. Disney Pin Trading.


And on October 20th, a new Tinkerbell pin will be released in a limited run of 500 pieces, which can be signed by the artist that came up with the design.

To *get* the special pins, you have to check in early for a wristband, then go to the World Of Disney store, pick up your pins, purchase them, and hustle to the artist's table to get them signed. At least, this is how I understand it, as I've not been to one yet. lol


So.. *why* would I want two of the same pin..? Well, I'm a fledgeling Collector/Trader. Having a signed limited edition available for trade later on would be similar to having a little gold nugget available for trade. Most pintraders refuse to sell their pins because it's considered bad form to sell a trading pin. At the parks, selling a trading pin from your lanyard or set is frowned on, but most pintraders are looking for a "profit" on their trades. If they have a pin they feel is worth $30.00 (i.e. rare/oop, extreme limited edition, far away park, etc) they aren't going to be interested in the mass produced run-of-the-mill $8.50 pin on my lanyard when they could just as easily step into the nearest pin location inside Disneyland and buy themselves the exact same pin. So, if I want to trade for a Holy Grail, I'll need something worth trading. Hence the second pin. And the first one? Well, I really like that pin design. I just want one to keep forever and bite any hand that comes near it. LOL

Update: Things are looking up! I was contacted (on a Disney Trader fansite and online swap) by a girl who is heading out to purchase the Lilo & Stitch pin and would be willing to pick me up ONE of the Tink pins. Now I'll at least have one for me, if it works out! WOOT! There's also a seller on eBay that is willing to make special trips into the park to buy pins for specific auction. I'm considering contacting her..)
