"How easily we forget..."

Some years ago, several bodies were buried in an elderly landlady's yard. I now live at a place that is not far off from that house and that yard. She chose people she knew would never be searched for.. Throwaways that would fall between society's cracks.

Take a moment and just breathe.. Give a few seconds of silence and stillness for those poor, confused, harmless people. All they had to do was land in the wrong building, renting a room from the wrong person. Many of them had no family left to mourn them. Maybe those of us who have families to love and that love us should spare a small bit of peace and carry a small grain of that sadness. Maybe it will help us to be a little more forgiving of our sometimes addled, sometimes troublesome relatives.
